What happened to the Democrat party?
Senators Frank Church (Idaho), Henry “Scoop” Jackson (Washington), Joe Lieberman (Connecticut), Sam Nunn (Georgia), Bob Kerrey (Nebraska), and President John Kennedy (Massachusetts) were all Democrat politicians I would have voted for when I was a young man. There’s no one left in that party that’s comparable.
Today the Democrat party is in shambles. Their bench is thinner than the Colorado Rockies or Chicago White Sox. All it has left are Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsome, Tim Walz, Pete Buttigieg, and Flossie the Wonder Chicken.
The party doesn’t have a message. It has no leaders. Those elected Democrats that do appear and speak out in public when they’re not promoting programs that endanger the public, attacking law enforcement officers, or swearing are a laughing stock.
They live in an anti-American world of make believe, fantasy and chaos including:
- Wide open borders
- Advocating for violent illegal aliens that have been convicted of murder, rape, child abuse, domestic violence, etc. while ignoring their American-citizen victims.
- Attacking law enforcement officers in an attempt to break into ICE prison facilities to protest the jailing of alien MS-13 and Tren de Aragua gangbangers.
- Insisting that men should be on girls sports teams, in girls locker rooms and bathrooms, and even in female prisons.
- Pretending in the biological impossibility that men can be women and vice versa
- Promoting wealth distribution
- Proposing higher taxes
- Enabling a hatred of Israel and Jews and the advocacy of Hamas and other savage antiemetic terrorists
- Spreading woke beliefs claiming that America is full of inequities and that the country is divided between oppressors and the oppressed.
- Promoting DEI and gender theory that inspired insanely inhumane and cruel medical procedures on minors including puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and ghastly genital mutilation surgery.
- Corking the flow of U.S. oil and natural gas supplies, while enabling Russia and Iran’s crazed mullahs to sell its petroleum stocks to support terrorists, build a nuclear bomb, and drive up prices for American consumers.
- Weakening the American military while at the same time tolerating brutal totalitarian regimes
- Humiliating the U.S. with its surrender to the Taliban in Afghanistan that caused the death of 13 Americans, the wounding of countless others while abandoning billions of dollars’ worth of military equipment and a vital military base close to China.
- Rising prices, increasing the cost of living, and diminishing wage gains with record high inflation for Americans.
- Proclaiming Joe Biden was as “sharp as a tack.”
- Dismissing Elon Musk’s DOGE efforts demanding that his investigations into fraud, corruption, waste, and abuse of taxpayer funds be stopped.
- Publicly shouting profane curses and slurs while remaining clueless about democracy, government, public policy, and the Constitution, a document most of them have probably never read.
This isn’t an exhaustive list. But it’s enough to show that Democrats have no new ideas and the ones they do have are intolerable and totally unacceptable to the majority of Americans. Their pantry is as empty as their heads. Their only agenda is to call for more socialism. They display no love for the country and show only contempt for those that do.
Nothing they do makes sense to the average American. They are psychotic in the causes they embrace. Americans don’t like any of it. In fact, recent polls indicate Americans are opposed to the Dems and their programs by wide margins including one showing an astronomical 80 percent disapprove.
As the Democrats survey their scorched political landscape and the smoldering debris of their failed and insane policies and wasteful programs they are beside themselves with anger, incomprehension, and self-doubt about why the polls show the American public wants nothing more to do with them. Yet these crazed defeated leftists continue to fanatically promote their absurd nonsense.
Their Congressional leaders are Senator Chuck Schumer, a dreadful bore who the Democrats don’t even like anymore, and Congressman Hakeem Jefferies, an inarticulate Lurch-lookalike who looks like he hasn’t slept a wink in six months.
It’s gotten so bad that the maintenance staff at the Washington, D.C. National Democrat Headquarters has requested that the local “Bring out your dead wagon” add three additional stops at their facility each week.

And Now For Something Completely Different: Not really! It’s just blatant ignorance displayed on a smaller and local scale.
The first phony “Aaron Bean Town Hall” staged by Fernandina Democrat party stooge Sheila Cocchi March 12 featured a crowd of her assembled grey-haired granny cuckoos with hand-painted signs protesting a potpourri of programs including the DOGE agenda, particularly Social Security.
This crowd was oblivious to the fact that DOGE’s objective is to protect their social security funds from fraud and waste, not cut them.
DOGE discovered that their money was being provided to illegal non-citizen aliens, babies, people who records say were 120, 130,140 and 150 years old, among other fraudulent recipients.
Left-wing radicals like Cocchi expect and demand compliance with their beliefs. They have difficulty accepting a difference in view points as her lefty political idealogy is a strong cult.
The local screechers didn’t want to hear about DOGE. Their mission, they were told, was to shake their fists, yell, and wave their silly signs. There’s no reasoning with ignorance, even when it costs them money.

Speaking Of Leftist Losers: According to various news reports Vermont Independent Senator Bernie Sanders spent $221,000 on chartered private jets in the first quarter of 2025.
During a TV interview with Bret Baier on FOX News recently, the admitted socialist Sanders attempted to justify his lavish, carbon-spewing travel, barking in fluent Bronx: “You think I’m gonna be sitting in a waiting line at United … while 30,000 people are waiting?”
The first politician in history to use private planes to fly from rally to rally in one day, was – like Sanders – also a socialist, Adolph Hittler.
Hitler’s 1932 political campaign chartered planes to fly Hitler from city to city, sometimes to two or three rallies a day, something unheard of at the time. Use of planes enabled him to speak at almost 200 rallies and to reach more than ten million spectators in a short period of time.
Sanders, like Hitler, offered something to everyone: work to the unemployed; prosperity to failed business people; profits to industry; social harmony and an end of class distinctions to idealistic ignorant young students.
Antisemitism was a central theme of Nazi ideology. Sanders is Jewish. He doesn’t preach antisemitism, but he doesn’t condemn it either, particularly as it spreads across college campuses. Why alienate your constituency?
And like Hitler, Sanders rhetoric is all a bombastic lie. If by some unrealistic fluke he ever got elected President, it wouldn’t end well for the country, the world, or him.
In 1981 when I was manager of the News Bureau for IBM’s General Systems Division, the division that introduced that company’s first person computer, I received a call from IBM’s manager of Communications at the company’s Burlington, VT facility. He told me that voters there just elected a socialist mayor, a guy named Bernie Sanders.
“What did he do before running for office?” I asked. “He was a part-time carpenter, and he’s never had a fulltime job,” was the response.
In fact Sanders didn’t collect his first steady paycheck until he was an elected mayor and pushing 40 years old. Sanders, the avowed socialist, who honeymooned in the USSR, won that election by just 10 votes. The locals reelected him and as far as I recall he didn’t try to run capitalistic IBM out of town. He used his position as a springboard to Congress and then the Senate.
Currently Sanders and his socialist gal pal, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, who both delighted in calling Trump “Hitler,” are the ones that have the most in common with The late Nazi leader and his party. Their platform is similar to the deliberately all-inclusive blather the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (Nazis) preached.
Sanders recently pointed out that President Trump flies in private jets, but since when did Trump call himself a democratic socialist?
Sanders used to rail against the “millionaires and the billionaires,” but it’s mostly just billionaires these days now that he’s a millionaire with four homes. Where did he get all that money? He’s never held a fulltime job other than as an elected official.
Yes, his hypocritical “Fighting Oligarchy” rallies are drawing good-sized crowds. But besides the rank hypocrisy, there is something more deeply fraudulent about Sanders’ tour with AOC.
It’s all a sham, just like Hitler’s.

Meanwhile Back At The Ranch: The former head of the Nassau County Pride organization, Genece Minshew, barely squeaked by and won her Fernandina Beach City Commission seat last year by just 19 votes and a lie.
Just before registering to run for office Minshew quietly switched her voter registration from Democrat to Republican.
Fernandina Beach’s registered voters are 52.5 percent Republican with just 21.5 percent claiming to be Democrats. Nassau County is 60.55 percent Republican and just 17.04 Democrat.
When she was called out on it and asked why she switched from the Democrat to the Republican party she responded saying:: “…it is clear that having an R behind your name is important if you are to be successful in working with the county and the state, so I changed parties so that I can better represent all the citizens of the city.”
Really Ms. Minshew? Then why did you switch back just recently? Have you decided you no longer want to represent all the citizens in the city?
When I called Ms. Minshew and asked her why she changed back to the Democrat party she curtly responded saying: “Because I wanted to.”
“That’s the only reason?” I asked. “Yes, that’s it,” she said.
This devious woman is a liar and a fraud. At least she admits it.

Here Come Da Judge: U.S. Circuit Court Judge James C. Ho, a naturalized American immigrant from Taiwan, who sits on the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals with jurisdiction over the nine federal district courts in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas, has an opinion on the district judges who think they can overrule President Donald Trump from carrying out his national policies. They can’t, says Judge Ho.
In a May 10 interview with the Wall Street Journal’s James Taranto, Judge Ho calls them out saying:”…we’re told that the three branches of government are separate and coequal. I think that’s wrong. The judiciary is not coequal. The judiciary is the weakest branch. Congress has the purse; the presidency has the sword. All we have is our voice. All we can do is issue judgements. Whether those judgements are respected, whether they are enforced, requires the respect of the other branches. The only way for judges to earn that respect is by following the law themselves.”
The Republicans need to put a great deal of effort and money into winning the mid-terms as the far-left Democrats, are presenting and promoting a distorted view of our nation’s history and Constitution – including the judicial branch. If they win the House in 2026 the next two years will be lawfare and a stalemate.
I would add Bill Bradley to your list of respected and electable Democrats.

I’m not thrilled with either big, corrupt party. But at least GOP is a big enough tent to allow MAGA, Conservatives and some Libertarians, although there are many RINO’s, statists, NeoCons and just plain corrupt A-Holes. In summary, it is better than the oldest party, which has backslid into a hugely corrupt, leftwing, woke mess. I was a Democrat at one time. The party left me. Also, as I matured, got a job, property, investments , real estate, started and ran multiple businesses, I realized that what the Democrat party has become was not in our interests and was actually working against us. It is paradoxical that so many billionaires buy into their crap. I guess that they can afford or influence their way around the stuff they don’t like. The free enterprise system with personal liberties has lifted more people out of poverty and made more health and material improvements than any other model in history, not just here but in many nations. I can’t say that it has made huge moral improvements, but neither have the dictatorships and rotten societies of old Europe. That part is up to The People. Are they up to it?
