This commentary will take a few weeks off to concentrate on researching, writing, printing and distributing the Amelia Island News Wrecker, an annual parody about local, regional, state, national and international events.
The new News Wrecker will be distributed to various bars, restaurants, shops and other public locations and contain stories other news outlets missed or ignored. These include new consignment shops where residents can purchase and sell their used electricity, the discovery of nearby nuclear weapons, the grand opening of a local used military weapons outlet, a massive hiring spree by Fernandina’s new City Commission and Fernandina’s chances of landing the 2036 Olympics.
