Frantic National & Local Democrats Appear Deranged

“Disgusting, shameful, appalling, disgraceful” and “repulsive” are just a few of the adjectives the media and a majority of Americans are using to describe the Democrats’ obscene behavior in the House chamber when President Trump addressed a joint session of Congress Tuesday evening, March 4.

Democrat response to President Trump’s speech.

Despite the public rebukes, their unhinged behavior continues and is getting increasingly more bizarre, frantic, and hateful.

It’s blatantly obvious, even to many Democrats, that their party is in disarray. It has no leadership, vision, or coherent message. The members are fighting amongst themselves as evidenced by the 10 House Dems that voted with Republicans Thursday, March 6 to censor the crazed cane-waving Houston Representative Al Green for his disrespectful behavior during the President’s speech.

In local communities Democrat politicians are switching parties and their money spigot is being turned off. Even the leftist New York Times reported: “ActBlue,” the online fund-raising organization that powers Democratic candidates, “…has plunged into turmoil,”

What did they think they would accomplish with their childish choreographed performances?

Did they assume the public would agree that they should ignore a 12-year-old brain cancer patient (ironically, a constituent of Rep. Green); refuse to acknowledge mothers whose children were murdered by illegal aliens; scowl at a high school student who received an appointment to West Point and sit on their hands and roll their eyes when a young volleyball player who suffered brain damage when hit by a ball to her face propelled by a biological male? Did they think rationale people would respond positively to a series of identical profane rants by senior party members. Did they think that during Green’s censoring in the House that the public would approve of their joining the disgraced Green in the Well and singing? These people have become totally unglued. They look like a series of skits on Saturday Night Live. Social media and memes, late night TV and talk radio are proving they are a national laughing stock.

The faces of the Democrat Party.

A CNN poll conducted on Tuesday found that 80% of the viewing audience of the speech believed Green’s disruption was “inappropriate.” Moreover, it found that 69% thought Trump’s speech was either “very positive” or “somewhat positive.”

The Democrats didn’t expect the massive Trump election victory. They got completely wiped out, lost all power, and are comically falling all over each other trying to figure out what to do next. Even Pennsylvania Democrat Senator John Fetterman was perplexed and disgusted, calling their actions a “self-own.” Former West Virginia Democrat Senator Joe Manchin agreed telling FOX News he disapproved of the party’s methods and predicted further defeats for them if they continue the madness.

The Republicans should consider providing contributions to the political consultants supplying advice to the Democrat party, as they are doing a great job of making this bizarre rabble of scowling men with pony tails and bald-headed and blue-haired women look like an old fashioned traveling carnival freak show.

The Republicans should hope that whoever is running the show for the Democrats keeps doing what they’re doing until the midterms because it’s sure working out well for the Republican party.

“Whatever it is we’re against it!”

Gadfly-Swatter Needed: If there’s a gathering of Nassau County protesters no matter how small or large, you’ll probably find local gadfly Sheila Cocchi smack in the middle. If she can’t find an angry group to join she’ll create one and then seek a cause.

It’s been reported that Ms. Cocchi, a persistent irritating critic and an annoyance to anyone bearing a Republican label or displaying a local building permit, is demanding that 4th District U.S. Congressman Aaron Bean appear before a town hall session that she has called. Ironically, the hall located at the Atlantic Recreation Center on Atlantic Ave, is named after Representative Bean’s late mother Joan Bean.

Ms. Cocchi, who once chaired the Nassau County Democrat party and left mysteriously, rented a hall for her March 12 event, even though she has no confirmed speaker to answer questions. As far as I know Rep. Bean has not responded to Ms. Cocchi. Interestingly, Cocchi told the local February 28 print News Leader that she is not affiliated with any political party.

Ms. Cocchi  appeared on downtown’s Main Street, Thursday, February 20 with a vocal crowd of locals screaming for President Trump and Elon Musk to end cuts to Social Security, despite Trump saying no cuts have been or will be made.

Roving protestors in front of Congressman’ Bean’s local office last month.

Musk’s DOGE group is looking to cut government waste, fraud, and corruption. That doesn’t matter to Ms. Cocchi and her roving band of fist shaking howlers. Her angry crowd voiced their grievances to Rep. Bean’s local Fernandina Beach office staffers and then moved outside to complain to seagulls and puzzled tourists and their bemused ice cream cone licking kids.

From all appearances her protester crowds all appear to be of retirement age and well beyond. Ms. Cocchi is younger and as far as I know doesn’t have a job. How does she pay for these events? Do folks contribute to her? Is she charging to attend the Town Hall? Is she funded by the state or national Democrat party? Is there a national gadfly organization? Just curious.

Is That All You Got? Eh? Florida Governor Ron DeSantis piled on after President Trump’s verbal battering of Justin Trudeau’s whining over the 25 percent tariff.

DeSantis mocked the Canadian Prime Minister’s warning threatening that “Canadians may no longer be vacationing in warm Florida.”

“That’s not much of a boycott,” DeSantis said of the estimated $3.3 million Canadian tourists who visit the state spend annually. “Maybe they wanted to get a glimpse of what a Stanley Cup winning hockey team actually looks like.”

Trump just announced that he has put a month-long hold on the tariffs, giving Trudeau a chance to reconsider his Canadian taxes on U.S. products.

Male Or Female? Democrats Can’t Tell: Remember when Democrats fought for women in what they called “The War On Women” and the Democrat leaning National Organization of Women (NOW} championed women’s rights? No more.

The Democrats are now leading the charge against women and women’s rights.

Senate Democrats voted last Monday afternoon to block a bill that would have prevented biological males from participating in women’s sports from reaching the floor. The vote failed along party lines, with 51 Republicans in favor of ending debate and bringing it to the floor, and 43 Democrats and two nominal independents who caucus with them voting against. Two Democrats and two Republicans didn’t vote. The bill fell short of the threshold of 60 needed to end debate by 10 votes.

The bill would have codified into law President Donald Trump’s Feb. 5 executive order denying federal funding to schools that allow transgender-identifying male athletes to compete against females.

The American public broadly supports such measures, as evidenced by a Jan. 19 New York Times poll, which found that 79% of respondents said biological males who identify as women should not be allowed to participate in girls and women’s sports. That includes 67% of Democrats polled.

The Riley Gaines  Act, which is a similar law, passed in Georgia in February, signaling an increased movement to prohibit transgender male athletes from participating in female sports.

Beach Rangers Reel It In: (The following was written by Fernandina Beach resident Rob Taylor)

Rob Taylor

Several years ago a beach walker was bitten by a dog off leash. During the expected lawsuit, the judge asked the city  of Fernandina what it did to enforce the leash law. Crickets from the city. So Police Chief James Hurley hired a handful of individuals who displayed exceptional judgement, an their ability to work with the public, and had years of experience in their previous jobs in the real world.

The idea was these individuals would act as ambassadors between the city and our beach-going  visitors — both local and tourists. It was never about enforcement. It was educating the public of our local rules and regulations while they used our beaches. Six men were hired and in the spring of 2019, the beach rangers were formed. Since then countless beach goers have been aided and educated. The City Council members at the time were pleased, even taking ride-alongs to see what it was the beach rangers did.

Since then, the beach ranger program was transferred to Ocean Rescue, a division of the Fire Department. Since that time (2023) there has been a slow effort to fold them into the ethos of the fire department with scheduling and an ever-changing mission shift from ambassadors patrolling the beach to first responders adjunct to the lifeguards:  and parking lot attendants at Seaside Park. Here’s one example. The police department provided a “beach ranger shack” at the entrance to the on-beach parking at Seaside Park   It was a place for the rangers to get out of the sun as they performed their duties. As soon as they were “transferred” to the Fire department, the “shack” was ordered removed. This is just one example. Suffice to say, it was not a good fit.

These changes were never the intention for the beach ranger program. Slowly, the six became disillusioned and several resigned rather than make the change. Three remained until last week. At a meeting to discuss this coming season, the three were told no new rangers would be hired, and each shift would be 8 or 10 hours. In that heat, these remaining “experienced” beach rangers decided they had enough, and resigned.

The program is a far cry from the original intent in 2019. Locals loved having them patrol the beach, often giving their four-legged friends a treat. Educating the public was the key. They let tourists know our rules and regulations, always with a deft hand. They left the beach-goer with a positive experience. If you are one of the thousands of people who have had a great experience with these devoted public servants, let the city commissioners know you don’t want this program to die on the vine. It was one of the great positive experience locals, and tourists alike had with the city.

(Editor’s note: Rob Taylor, an eleven year resident of Fernandina Beach, is a retired Medical Service Corps officer in the US Navy. Following a stint as the Director of Beneficiary Services at Mission Health, a Baptist/St. Vincent’ , he resumed a teaching career that began in the Navy, where he was a Special Lecturer at George Washington University. He taught in Clay county and retired as a teacher in Nassau county. He is one of the six original Beach Rangers hired by the FBPD in 2019. He holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego and master’s degree from the University of Southern California. Obviously none of the Beach Rangers were in it for the money. Serving the community was their priority.]

Need Money? Call 1-800-UNCLE SAM: Statistics provided by the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) show that in 2023 alone the USAID agency gave away $42.5 billion of U.S. taxpayers money to other countries.

The U.S. is $34 trillion in debt, yet the government borrowed money in order to give it to citizens of other countries. How does that make sense? Why aren’t U.S. government employees expected to abide by the same fiscal common sense required of most Americans? How many of us can give away money we don’t have?

How many foreign governments give the U.S. money, or even pay back what they owe us?

Thankfully President Trump shuttered that worthless agency and approved Musk’s DOGE move to boot the out of control group of nitwits running it.

A Shocking Issue:  If you own an electric vehicle you may want to purchase some rat poison. A person I know overheard a local Ace Hardware clerk tell a customer that he sells a lot of rat poison to electric vehicle owners hereabouts. He explained to the customer that there appears to be a coating on the EV cars’ wiring insulation that rats find appetizing and they gnaw through it.

  • Comment (18)
  • Hey, you had better be careful with making rat poison recommendations Scott. I hear that most of the rats and other vermin on Amelia Island read your blog.

  • “A sad cavalcade of self owns and unhinged petulance. We are becoming the metaphorical car alarm that NOBODY pays attention to.”
    (John Fetterman/Dem.-Pennsylvania)

  • Dave, these local protest groups are being funded by left wing propaganda organizations like “Indivisible” (Soros backed). One of the most recent protest flyers circulating stated this: “Attire: Wear activism attire – No Clay County Dems T-shirts”. The Democrats refuse to take ownership of these protests, even actively stating not to wear Dem attire. This is so that they can portray themselves as “concerned citizens” and “non party affiliated” so as not to receive the collective eye roll that the general public is giving the Democrat Party as a whole. This is just another way we continue to see the Democrat Party refuse to take responsibility for how disastrous the Biden Administration was.

  • FYI, my American made, gasoline powered vehicle has been the victim of vermin too. It has nothing to do with how the car is powered

  • All this concern over vermin, doesn’t anyone care about the forced elimination of the very useful and effective Beach Ranger program at Fernandina Beach ?
Who is going to enforce the various City ordinances regarding smoking, glass containers, Public nudity, open fires? Maybe a sign posted at the beaches,”swim at your own risk “ would provide the liability protection for the city, to replace the Ranger program. Who is going to police all the filter tips from the sand? I’m sure the pension and HealthCare expenses for these low paid, part time employees did not enter into this dececion.

  • Thank you John B. Goode. You, sir are spot on regarding a “no comment” on the FB Beach Ranger patrol. Also note no comments about John Fetterman breaking rank and criticizing his own Democratic Party for their recent behavior. Seems to me that more are interested in “rodent patrol” and/or calling Dave out.

  • Regarding men in women’s sports, where is N.O.W. and the feminists who used to stand up and fight for women’s rights ? Seems they’ve surrendered common sense to the radical left wing of the Democrat Party … my, how the world has changed.

  • The Tuesday 3/4 Presidential Address evening was a salad bar of character – both good and bad.

Informed, fact-based political alternatives presented by R and D and any other serious parties will usually ‘raise the bar’ in an election… but when a party uniformly refuses to even acknowledge the stories of so many good men, women and children spotlighted during the speech, it says much about the character and decency of a party.

  • Mr. Goode (really?), if you will advise me as to where the nude beach area is, I will gladly serve as an ambassador. Skin cancer is real and I would serve the public interest by educating visitors on the use and proper application of sun screen.

  • Yeah – the rodent problem is real.

I park my cars in the driveway, and the (apparent) rodents like to shelter under the hood in the winter months. Mostly, they leave a bunch of acorn shells behind. Occasionally they nibble through some wires, causing me time and aggravation to do the repairs. One year they ignored the wires and chewed up the fabric insulation attached under the hood.

Honda sells electric tape infused with hot pepper, but I just dust under the hood with my own cayenne pepper. It seems to help. No critters this past winter.

Rat poison seems like too little, too late. My theory is that the hot pepper will create an inhospitable environment, encouraging them to camp elsewhere.

Better solution? Park inside a secure garage.

  • Demonstrating, once again, the lack of substance or new ideas on the left, people like ‘Rat Killer’ resort to shaking their fists and calling common-sense conservatives names like “idiots” and “vermin.” If it weren’t so sad it would be funny: Such is the negative, loudmouth minority we on the right have to abide. That aside, my question is when does DOGE arrive to deal with the bloated governments of Nassau County and Fernandina Beach? As a result, the property taxes are too damn high!

  • Carrie T., apparently, you’re dumber than both of us:

    “leaver” should be “leave”
    “wandering” should be “wondering”
Not to mention that you didn’t properly capitalize our names…
